Michigan Works! Southeast gives free job help — resumes, interview practice, even money for training. The Washtenaw center is at 1201 E. Ellsworth Rd in Ann Arbor, and a bus stops right out front.

Emergency cash for rent, utilities, or heat exists. It is called State Emergency Relief. Apply at MI Bridges.

No ID? You need one for almost everything — do this early. A Michigan state ID costs $10. It is FREE if you are homeless, a veteran, 65 or older, or get disability checks from Social Security (SSI or SSDI). A shelter caseworker can give you the letter you need.

Utility shutoff coming? Dial 2-1-1 and ask about THAW and help from DTE or Consumers Energy.
